On Wednesday 9th October, members of Sycamore class have been learning how to stay safe in the water during their swimming lessons. They have been taught how to tread water, how to signal for help if you need it, how to rescue someone safely from the water and how to jump into deep water without your head going under! Some children even took part in the lessons in their pyjamas to simulate jumping into water fully clothed! Ms Harrill and Tracy thoroughly enjoyed watching from the side, where they stayed nice and dry.

They also had a very exciting start to their swimming lesson that day as they bumped into the Mayor of Hackney - Caroline Woodley! Caroline asked Sycamore class all about their swimming lessons and we think it's safe to say Sycamore class were a little star struck after the surprise meeting.
