Year 1 Harvest Their Produce

 Our Year 1 pupils were delighted with their successful harvest when they returned to school in September. During spring and summer they planted, watered and weeded and the garden blossomed as a result of their care.

The growing area really brought to life the children's ‘Growth & Life Cycles´ topic, giving the children really meaningful hands on experiences In the first week of term each one of the children took part in a harvesting and eating session. They really enjoyed the fruits ( and vegetables) of their labour!

We look forward to more planting this year with the new cohort of reception pupils. There are plans for some winter planting and a mini greenhouse is coming to extend the season and allow us to be more adventurous with our choice of plants.
