Pitch Futures Project
is an initiative launched by Sherry Collins, to inspire and educate the nation’s future creative talent - beginning at primary school level.
In 2018 Rushmore School children had the opportunity to take part in various activities throughout the year.
PITCH FUTURES LAUNCH
Year 4 children attended the launch of the initiative at D&AD, where they had the opportunity to learn about sound design, visual effects, editing, animation, how to direct, plus they are also experienced VR and HoloLens technology.
Year 5 children attended Pitch Futures @ D&AD Festival held in April, where they learned from talent in the creative industry about what they do and also had a tour of the festival.
The children were interviewed on camera and had the opportunity to learn from a real film crew about what they do.
Year 4 and year 6 children went on an exciting trip to visit Havas, a creative agency in Kings Cross, where staff from the agency - creatives, planners, producers, strategists - shared insights into what they do.
The children then had the opportunity to work on real creative campaigns which the agency was working on and come up with and pitch their own ideas for advertising campaigns. Winning teams were selected on the day.
IN SCHOOL CREATIVES’ CLUB
Sherry ran a targeted in school creatives’ club during the summer term of 2018. The children met the owner of a local laundrette business who asked them to come up with some advertising campaign ideas. The children worked on their ideas in the club and were then given the opportunity to present their pitches to the owner.
Look out for information in Spring term about the launch of this campaign!
