Forest School  Lead: Tia Petrou

Rushmore Forest School is led by Tia Petrou and we are a part of the Hackney Forest School. During our forest school sessions here at Rushmore the children have the opportunity to explore and investigate the natural world around them. They are given the opportunity to ask questions, lead their own learning, take safe risks and engage in discussions with their peers and practitioners about our natural environment how we can care for it. Forest school promotes independent skills and critical thinking. Throughout the sessions our children develop their observational skills, ability to work collaboratively.  Some of the benefits we have seen are improved sensory play, social skills an increased self and development in their Communication, Language and vocabulary as well as their physical development.
