Football success

Our football team are the champions of Hackney for the second year running and now go onto represent Hackney at the London Championships on Saturday December 3rd at Greenwich. We’ll be taking our cheer leaders and hope that we win again this year. However, the opposition is very strong and there is an element of luck in winning these short matches against a number of other teams.

Raif Howley (Capt), Junior Frimpong, Riccardo Mitchell, Leonardo Kellaway, Rickell Rogers, Luke Gubbins, Daniel Nwaunoma, James Arthurworrey, Stephen Arthurworrey, and Sam Susianta.

This season our football team has won every major trophy in Hackney, including the Hackney Gazette Cup and are inner London champion too.

We have been incredibly lucky to have had a wonderful coach Chris Parkinson and a dedicated school footballer manager Emer Heuston. Without their support, taking the boys to and from matches, none of this would have happened.

Seven pupils have managed to reach the next chance of the Hackney District trials. The trials are organise to produce a football team to represent the borough.

Our magnificent football team are through to the finals of the Hackney League after beating Gainsborough 4-2 on Wednesday 17 May 2006.  This is the only cup which we shared last year so we are hoping for a truly clean sweep!
